This is the album that started me down the godforsaken path of psychedelic music. Of course, I didn’t know back then what a revelation this would become - at the time, the Eastern European folk mixed with field recordings and heavy, buzzing drones only served to create this irresistible, heady fusion of sounds that was almost alien and apocalyptic. I remember being blown away by how dark and oppressive Doves Fielding Coal and Hell Birds sounded. They still do. This album hasn't aged a day.
